The Marshall AI Governance Readiness Standard (MAGRS) is an open governance framework designed to ensure that organizations retain control and responsibility as artificial intelligence systems are integrated into professional work.
MAGRS is based on a simple premise: artificial intelligence can influence decisions, but it cannot assume responsibility for outcomes. Organizations must therefore establish clear governance over how AI systems are used.
If an organization cannot explain what its AI is doing, where it is allowed to operate, and who is responsible for its outcomes, it is not governed.
Artificial intelligence may assist human decision-making, but responsibility always remains with humans.
MAGRS defines governance not as awareness, but as the active implementation of visibility, boundaries, and accountability within AI-assisted systems.
